Tasting Note: A pale straw color, this wine has a lovely bouquet of under-ripe tropical fruits, white flowers, honey and white pepper-y minerality. On the palate the fruit is balanced out by youthful acidity and flavors of candied lime and honey suckly. Overall a delicious light bodied, high acid wine that compares nicely to a Sauvignon Blanc, Gruner Veltliner or Pinot Gris style.
About The Winemaker:
In 1999, Allan Fetty and his wife Margaret Fetty planted their first 3 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the Texas Hill Country, just a stone’s throw from Westcave Preserve and Hamilton Pool Preserve. After supplying local wine makers with grapes for a few years, Margaret and Allan began crafting their own unique wine, made in the old-world style and strongly influenced by the French traditions. The vineyard has expanded to 9 acres of matured vines, lovingly tended to by hand. These 8,000 vines include 9 different varieties of grapes, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Tannat, Malbec, Vermentino, and Viognier.
